EAW Products Selected for Drogheda, Ireland’s
Fusion Nightclub
Several EAW Units, Including New AX Series, Keep the Energy Going at
This Highly Versatile Hybrid Venue
Whitinsville, MA, USA – January 7, 2009
– EAW, a world leader in audio system and loudspeaker solutions,
recently had several of its products selected to be installed in Fusion
Nightclub, Drogheda, Ireland, a versatile nightclub venue hosting bands,
DJs and other acts. EAW products were chosen for their high sound quality
and versatility. Pete Williams of Dublin-based AVL Systems Ltd., with
the assistance of the EAW ASG team, selected the products and managed
their installation and implementation. The designer was Graham Barrow
Interiors, and the project manager was Graham Barrow.
Fusion Nightclub is a large venue that prides itself on
serving the diverse tastes and needs of the people of Drogheda. A high-volume,
high-energy venue, Fusion has been thrilling the region for nearly a
decade. Recent refurbishment developments give a welcome update to what
was already a thriving venue, and the newly-remodeled space is a stunning
club that hosts live acts and DJs weekly. At the center of the club’s
remodeling are several products from EAW.
“Since this is a hybrid live/dance club venue, Fusion
was aware of the hurdles we would face in designing a sound system that
would support such a variety of acts,” stated Mark Fay of AVL
Systems. “With EAW, we were able to carefully design a system
that not only met the client’s wishes but exceeded them. The wide
range of products offered by EAW allowed us to deliver a complete audio
solution for the venue, from main PA to support, infill, under balcony
and even in the toilets and other public areas. The high quality of
the sound in the venue, at all times, is incredible and is a testament
to EAW.”
EAW products selected for use in Fusion Nightclub included
four AX344 Arrayable Install Loudspeakers, eight Avalon DCS2 Bent Horn
Dance Subwoofers, two UX8800 Digital Signal Processors with Gunness™
Focusing, four FR159z Compact Full-Range Loudspeakers, four FR250z Compact
Subwoofers, four VR62 Compact Full-Range Loudspeakers, eight VR21 Full-Range
Loudspeakers, two VR51 Full-Range Loudspeakers and four SB150z Compact
Subwoofers.
Fay is especially complimentary of the new AX Series.
“The different models in the range allow installation companies
to achieve the optimum dispersion patterns and performance for any application
where a permanently installed sound system is required. The AX Series
are some of the best sounding speaker cabinets EAW has developed, and
their natural sound made them the perfect speaker range for Fusion Nightclub.”
Fusion Nightclub’s Colm McGuinness stated, “I
know we have a venue with unique needs, and AVL and EAW delivered exactly
what we need in terms of sound quality, power and versatility. EAW’s
products and AVL’s level of expertise together built a system
on par with any of the leading nightclubs in the world, let alone Ireland.
We look forward to great, powerful sound for years to come.”
