protection feature for unit —
INFOCOMM, ANAHEIM, CA, June 19, 2007 —
Denon Professional is pleased to announce a new firmware update for
its DN-V755 Digital Audio Video Player, which has become a favorite
of the digital signage market for its ability to store and playback
a variety of file formats on its built-in hard drive. The new system
update, which is expected to be available for all DN-V755 users free
of charge as of August 1, 2007, from Denon Professional’ website,
offers significant increases in functionality and new features.
With the installation of the new firmware, DN-V755s deployed
anywhere will now be able to pull content in any location with an Internet
connection, via an FTP server. The DN-V755 units can be programmed to
log into the server at a scheduled time and download any new content
and playlists there, and then automatically update and restart their
hard drives. Content developers can also establish multiple directories
containing customized content for different locations and the new firmware
update will allow the user to direct each DN-V755 unit to the proper
directory. “This is a major advantage for multiple-location users,
such as retail chains, that need to update their digital signage information
on a daily basis,” Karl Gustafson, Denon Professional Brand Manager,
at D&M Professional. “For instance, a clothing chain can direct
network connected DN-V755 units at dozens of locations to log into the
server at midnight, seek out the appropriate directory for new information
for its locations, download that information, restart the unit and be
ready to go with an entirely new program the next morning, all automatically.
It’s another way Denon Professional is continuing to serve the
changing needs of the fast-growing digital signage sector.” In
addition to these new features, the new firmware update also adds a
password protection feature to the DN-V755 — once implemented,
content and playlists cannot be changed or uploaded by anyone but the
authorized users.
The new firmware update is expected to be available by
August 1, 2007at the DN-V755 product page on the Denon Professional
website (www.d-mpro.com)
