A BIT OF THE BUBBLY – NEW
ENGLAND SPIRITS RETAILER SHAKES UP SALES WITH THE HELP OF THE DENON
DN-V755
DIGITAL AUDIO/VIDEO PLAYER
— Customers at Wyman’s Liquors can now get
instant pricing
on weekly specials and build a greater rapport with the store —
ITASCA, IL, December 19, 2007 — As part
of an extensive renovation of its chain of retail outlets, Wyman’s
Liquors, a well-known and successful brand in Massachusetts for over
80 years, called upon the Denon Professional DN-V755 Digital Audio/Video
Player to achieve the chain’s owner’s goal of bringing in
digital signage that would cost-effectively boost sales and increase
awareness of the company’s offerings. The Denon DN-V755 has become
a favorite in the digital signage market for its ability to store and
playback a variety of file formats from its built-in hard drive, and
those features have given the customer base at Wyman’s Liquors
a whole new relationship with the store.
“The Denon DN-V755 has brought about a significantly
enhanced shopping experience,” says Jacques Marchetti, President
of Marchetti Engineering, the Boston-area company which developed and
manufactures a proprietary remote control interface (SW-755) that plugs
into the DN-V755’s parallel port and allows customers to navigate
the content stored on the DN-V755’s hard drive. “While TV
advertising draws customers into the stores, the bigger challenge is
to sell more goods during those visits,” says Marchetti, underlining
the benefit that the right digital signage can bring to the retail environment.
Specifically, Wyman’s goal was to draw customers’ attention
to weekly sales items and specials in a unique manner that engaged and
informed the customer, and to do so cost-effectively, with low maintenance
requirements and the ability for each store to manage its own digital
content. That’s precisely the solution that the Denon DN-V755
offered. Now, Wyman’s Liquors customers get instant pricing at
the push of a button, and with Denon’s intuitive software, Wyman’s
can manage all of their signage content in-house, saving the company
thousands of dollars. “That is a great return on investment,”
says Marchetti. “The DN-V755 is the perfect solution for increasing
customer awareness and taking the customer-store relationship to another
level.”
The DN-V755 Digital Audio/Video Player features built-in
software and is accessible from any web-enabled computer connected to
the network. With a 40-GB* internal hard drive, the DN-V755 features
Automatic IP search (DHCP, APIPA) and can play hours of DVD quality
MPEG-2 video, along with MPEG-4 video and JPEG images. It also plays
WAV, MP3 or MP2 audio at a variety of quality levels and includes Parallel
remote control, Serial and Ethernet control, a real-time clock for scripted/automatic
playback of A/V files, S-Video and Composite (RCA) video outputs and
unbalanced (RCA) stereo audio outputs. And with the installation of
a newly available firmware update, the DN-V755 can automatically load
content via an FTP server from any location with an internet connection.
