Auralex® Displays Full Range of Portable Acoustical Treatment Solutions

— ProGO™ Moveable Freestanding Acoustical Panels and ProMAX™ Stand-Mounted Acoustical Panels offer a portable, highly effective acoustical treatment solution for a wide range of applications —

THE NAMM SHOW, ANAHEIM, CA, JANUARY 23, 2014 – Auralex® Acoustics, Inc. (booth 7424), the world’s leading brand of acoustical treatments, is displaying its full range of so-called “Portable Treatment” acoustical solutions – ProGO™ Moveable Freestanding Acoustical Panels and ProMAX™ Stand-mounted Acoustical Panels – at the NAMM Show.

Auralex’s ProGO acoustical panel is a portable, lightweight and highly efficient absorber that’s effective on stage, in the studio, in the classroom, in home theaters, in hi-fi listening spaces and more. ProGO is short for Professional Gobo (a gobo is a freestanding acoustical treatment device usually used in recording studios), but clients shouldn’t let the name limit their thinking about this highly adaptable device. This portable absorber consists of a custom, two-sided ProPanel™ assembly fitted into a custom black melamine-laminated base that can be outfitted with optional casters for increased portability. The ProGO, available in 2'x6'x8" or 4'x4'x8" configurations, rests in the included floorstand and is easily moved to accommodate any setup. It’s perfect for controlling early reflections and is also highly effective as a bass trap when stood across a room’s corners. The ProGO is an ideal solution for any space where boundary-mounted acoustical treatments might not be desirable. Users will be able to dial in just the right amount of room ambience by varying the position and number of ProGOs, and can quickly put together an enclosed booth within a larger space by utilizing multiple ProGOs in an array.

ProGO Features:

  • Portable absorption treatment
  • Reduces excessive reverberation
  • Minimize sound leakage
  • ProGO is expandable for a wide variety of applications
  • Available in 12 Fabric colors to match any décor.
  • Available in both 2' x 6' and 4' x 4' models with optional casters.

ProMAX™ Stand-mounted Acoustical Panels are a portable, lightweight, highly effective absorption treatment solution offering quick and easy setup and teardown. ProMAX is developed for recording and performance applications in the studio, on stage, in the classroom, in the home and more.  The ProMAX can be implemented in any location where boundary-mounted acoustical treatments aren’t feasible or desirable, such as rented spaces. The new, updated version has both an absorptive side and a reflective side, providing additional sonic options. The 2’x4’x3” Studiofoam® panels feature a cloth-wrapped, moderately reflective, rear surface for acoustical and sonic variability when rotated. By varying the quantity, orientation and spacing of multiple ProMAXes, you’ll be able to dial in the desired amount of room ambience. The ProMAX is a flexible, expandable and affordable solution that’s perfect for a variety of users and settings.

ProMAX user and multi-instrumentalist/producer Steve Berlin (Los Lobos, Buckwheat Zydeco, Leo Kottke) stated, "I just used the ProMAX for tracking with artist Scott Pemberton…wow…What a difference it makes!"

Producer/engineer Dusty Wakeman (Dwight Yoakam, Lucinda Williams, Americana Music Festival) added, "We've been using the Auralex ProMAX portable treatments for our ‘Pop-Up’ studios and they work great."

ProMAX Features:

  • Stand-mounted acoustical absorption panels
  • Reduce unwanted acoustical reflections
  • Tame chaotic reverberation
  • Flexible, portable absorption for professional & residential settings
  • Proprietary melamine-free formula is long-lasting and won't crumble like other brands
  • Users can dial in the exact sound they desire
  • Features absorptive and more-reflective sides for sonic variability
  • Expand your ProMAX array as your needs change
  • 2’ wide x 4’ tall x 3” thick
  • Available Colors in Charcoal Gray
